SolaCom Launches Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Handling & Dispatch System

PSAP consolidation mandates and the need for inter-agency, multi-jurisdictional communication systems are driving the need for distributed applications that can enable applications to be housed in a central location and accessed over a private network. Through the combined solutions from SolaCom, Interact, VIXXI, and HigherGround, a 9-1-1 call taker will be able to pinpoint the exact location of the caller on a map, no matter what device they are using. The 9-1-1 call can be recorded and the all of the information including the location and the recording can be automatically attached to the CAD record and immediately distributed to different agencies and jurisdictions.

Today public safety is all about making sure citizens are safe and that they can communicate with public safety answering points (PSAP) regardless of the device they are using - landline, cell phone, VoIP phone, or SMS. In order to facilitate this communication, agencies need to have accurate information delivered at the right time, in the right place and on the right device.
