Flight Service Stations

The Liberty-STAR VCS provides reliable voice communication every step of the way

The Flight Service Station is a facility provided to pilots and flight operators for filing flight plans, and for collecting flight condition and safety data for particular destinations, alternate airports and other flight information.

Flight Service Stations also play a key role in search and rescue operations. When a flight plan's calculated arrival time is not met, the FSS launches the distress phase, alerting airports along the aircraft's planned flight route, as well as military search and rescue authorities.

To the Flight Service Specialists (FSS) and the pilots they serve, reliable voice communication is paramount. But reliability is not the only concern. An effective FSS Voice Communication System (VCS) should accommodate an abundance of radio channels, offer a wide variety of interphone options and integrate these capabilities seamlessly. The system should be easy to use, allowing FSS personnel to focus on their mission, not the hardware. The Liberty-STAR Voice Communication System (VCS) delivers on all these points.
